Gelato is Sherbet’s best-known child: Leafly lists it as Sunset Sherbet × Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies, and Leafly’s genealogy says Jigga and Mr. Sherbinski made a female Sunset Sherbet produce pollen and pollinated a GSC with it in 2014.1,2 The child tests higher in state labs: 21.58% median THC against 20.52% for Sherbet.3

How Gelato was made

GreenState says Sherbinski reversed Sunset Sherbet so that a female made pollen and crossed it with Thin Mint GSC; Sherbinski told High Times the seeds produced the numbered phenotypes #25, #33, #41, #45, #47 and #49.5,6 High Times ranked Gelato #10 among the strains of 2016, and Leafly made it its first Strain of the Year in 2018.7,8 Gelato has its own guide in the Official Cannabis network at gelatostrain.com.
